Enjoy Basque culture with all five senses at Bilbao basque FEST
Celebrate the enormous cultural wealth of the Basque Country this Easter at Bilbao basque FEST! From 16th to 19th April, the city offers many activities, most of them free, with something for everyone: concerts, theatre performances, cinema, stand-up comedy, traditional dances, Basque traditional sports (herri kirolak), and more.
Bilbao Basque FEST continues with the successful format of its six usual themes: Gourmet, Culture, Music, Market, Cinema and Sport, and is repeating classic events such as the original Walks along the estuary with Begotxu and Maitane, the historical tours with the ‘hosts’, a fun range of family activities, parades (kalejiras), square dances (dantza plazan) and DJ sessions. Basque traditional sports (Herri Kirolak), a hallmark of the Basque people, will once again put on their impressive exhibitions and workshops, as well as offering official competitions such as the Bizkaia Orga Joko (cart-pulling) championship.
Another of the aims of Bilbao Basque FEST is to promote the delicious Basque cuisine and its stunning tourist destinations. Txoko Gourmet, located in Arenal, will open the doors to its successful tastings and workshops in partnership with different regions. In these, visitors will be offered a delicious range of locally-sourced products.

The 2024 edition premiered a new way of sharing the programme of events, one that is more sustainable and reflects the current digital trends. This will be offered again this year and consists of a badge with a printed QR code providing direct access to all the latest event information and the festival’s daily programme.
A packed programme of activities awaits you over four days full of excitement, great food and fun. Live the experience of Bilbao basque FEST!
