A must-see at Bilbao basque FEST is the showcasing of traditional Basque sports, known as Herri Kirolak. El Arenal will be transformed into a large square where visitors can enjoy these thrilling, world-famous events up close. The programme includes iconic feats such as anvil, straw bale and stone lifting, wood sawing and tug of war. The festival will also host the official Bizkaia Orga Joko (cart-pulling) championship, along with several hands-on workshops for ages 8 and up. In addition, the athlete Nerea Egurrola, current record holder for carrying 25kg txingas, will attempt to break the 50kg record.

Bizkaia Orga Joko (cart-pulling) Championship for both women and men. The Arenal Pier will be the stage for these physical challenges that captivate both passers-by and enthusiasts alike. There will also be several children’s workshops, open to those aged 8 and up.
