Basque culture can also be savoured. Txoko Gourmet, located in Bilbao’s Arenal, will bring together a wide range of Basque tourist regions, each showcasing their finest local products. It is the perfect place to discover what these destinations have to offer and to enjoy their delicious gastronomy.
Do not miss the express tastings, where you can sample gildas (skewers of peppers, olives and anchovies), sourdough bread, cheese, chorizo, txakolí and chocolate. You can also take part in the cooking workshops, where you will learn to prepare delights such as tuna and marinated anchovy toasts, Latxa urdina (Basque blue) cheese toasts and courgette stuffed with anchovies, among other local specialities. Both activities cost just €2, with all proceeds going to Amiarte, an Interdisciplinary Artistic Creation workshop that promotes connection and collaboration between artists, professionals and people facing challenging life situations.
